I don’t know who said it first, but someone mentioned that 2018 is the year of action. I believe I first saw Alex Cortes mention it.
I don’t know the entire rationale behind whoever first made this statement. And frankly, I don’t care, because I agree with it for my own reasons.
Now, here’s something I will mention. Among many things, including Red Pilled dude, healthcare worker, traveler, free thinker, weightlifter, and lover of Latin women, I am a writer.
I do well when you guys read my shit. It expands my brand as my knowledge works itself into your brain. The more you read, the more you are likely to remember me and share my information down the road. I also do just a little bit better financially when you buy products based on my recommendations, which you’re more likely to stumble upon when you’re prowling through my site.
But that said, I don’t want you to spend all of your time reading this site, or other similar information without doing enough about what you’re learning. You absolutely must balance knowledge with action, or else you’re guilty of too much mental masturbation and not putting it to good use.
There have been a lot of newcomers to the Manosphere and Red Pill knowledge in 2017. Perhaps more than ever, as our reach continues to expand.
I noticed this in one of my own Twitter polls when I realized that a lot of people were much newer than I thought. Until then, I assumed most people had been in this community almost as long as I have been (about eight years, although this blog is 14 months old).
So, many people are still learning this stuff. And I can see why they’d drown themselves in information when they just started learning.
But for many of you, especially for those who have been reading for a while, I suspect that you’re reading more than you need to and you aren’t putting as much into action as you could. It’s not to say that you aren’t doing a good chunk of what you should do, but rather that you should do more. This is a generalization, of course, but I’d bet it describes many of you.
So again, you must take action on any self-improvement topic you’re reading about. If you’re learning a language, go out there and use it. If you’re learning sales, stop reading so much and start trying to sell. If you’re learning persuasion, practice trying to persuade people in everyday life. You’ll learn more practical skills doing these things than you will from a book.
Now is the time to prioritize action over education. I know that in certain ways, I could as well. That’s why I’ve changed up certain habits and that’s one reason I’m writing this article.
Education Comes Before Action
I will always encourage people to read my writing and everything that I link to because I encourage proper education. And I always encourage men to read other Red Pill sites, as well as great books and other resources.
Education is essential to a man’s being. Without education, you are destined to be misled. There are simply too many people out there who will manipulate you in one way or another. You’ll be manipulated sheerly out of statistics.
This is true no matter what time period a man lives in. Throughout history, countless wars have been started by false flags and misinformation. Men’s lack of knowledge plus psychological factors such as confirmation bias and tribalism have been taken advantage of since the beginning of mankind. Imagine being manipulated your whole life and sacrificing your life for entirely the wrong cause!
Imagine if you never discovered the Red Pill. If you arrived at many of the conclusions that you did because you swallowed it, you’d be fortunate in a sense. Most likely, you would not know about many of the things that we discuss.
So remember, education is essential to avoid many potential pitfalls.
And remember that education comes before action with most tasks. Unless you’ve been “thrown to the wolves” by learning something on the spot, you usually have to learn about something before you do it.
If you want to build a house, you need to know how to build it first. Imagine building a house with no knowledge of how to build its foundation. It would collapse entirely.
That is both a real-world example and a metaphor. Without education, you are bound to do the task incorrectly. And in today’s era, in particular, you have to be able to weed out the lies and misinformation around you.
While education comes before action, it also comes with action. Although with most tasks you must be educated on how to do them first, the most important education you can get is through real-world action.
Education Is Useless Without Action
You can learn all you want in the comfort of your 21st century home, but no amount of education is going to be useful to you if you do nothing with it.
As an easy example, I started learning Spanish in January of last year. In the summer I took it to South America to interact with the locals y las chicas. I practiced with Spanish speakers in the United States as much as possible before and after my trip as well.
I didn’t just sit at home and learn it on Duolingo for nothing. I’m going back again to at least one more country in South America this year, and definitely many more down the road, so it will be put to very good use throughout the course of my lifetime.
I will say that I have a penchant for learning information that might not be immediately useful and is mostly for my own self-interest. The amazing thing is that you don’t feel exactly how important this information is until you’re out in the real world using it.
I’ve procrastinated on things that were more urgent by reading Wikipedia, for instance, and then later used that knowledge in the real world several months or years later and surprised myself with what I knew. Mixing that information with knowledge obtained from traveling definitely makes me give off a more worldly mystique, especially if I put it to good use with some good charisma.
The overall point here is that you can read all of the books that you want but if you aren’t going out and doing things for yourself, your priorities are out of wack. You can read all the Red Pill and PUA articles, hang out with our community on Twitter, troll Reddit, and do a lot of other things, but you must act on what you know.
If you’re prioritizing reading over doing, then now is the time to change. Get out there and do what has to be done.
And don’t do just some of what needs to be done. Don’t work on one aspect of your life when you should be working on many. For instance, don’t just work on making more money when you should be working on women, your health, time efficiency, and many other things as well. Make sure you’re hitting it on every level.
Only through doing will you ever reach the goals that you want to reach. If you don’t get started, you’ll never get it done.
Now is the time to prioritize action, especially while 2018 is still young!
You know what you need to do in 2018 and beyond.
Now get fucking moving.
